My Story
From the beginning.
Laura began her training with Creative Nail Design in September 2000 alongside an intensive NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy course which she completed at Swindon College in Wiltshire. It was at Swindon College Laura completed a Diploma in Advanced Nail Techniques as well as a Diploma in Fashion and Photographic Make-Up.
By July 2001 Laura was working full-time as a Nail Technician in a salon in Wiltshire where her passion for Acrylic Nails really started. Within 18 months, at the age of just 21, Laura had opened her first Nail and Beauty Salon in Chippenham, Wiltshire. Nails.Com traded for 6 years and became the most successful salon in Chippenham with 6 nail stations.
During this time Laura went on to train with Dermalogica, Nouveau Lashes, Jessica, St Tropez, SuDo, Nailtiques, Bio Sculpture, LCN, Caflon Ear Piercing and studied to become a Creative Nail Design Master Nail Technician in 2002. She has since completed a conversion course with Lash Perfect and more than one advanced Nail Art course.
Laura has attended many more courses including; Russian Volume and Advanced Lash Styling with Tania Withers, Master Lash Artistry and Russian Volume with Frankie Widdows at the Institute of Eyelash Excellence, and has also received mentoring from Lash Artist and gurus Vicky Rugg, Bryony Barclay, Ava Scarlett, Merlin (MLAB) and has attended many shows and conferences. More recently Laura released her own brand of Eyelash Extension supplies, supplying to professionals across the UK. 13 Years ago, after having her second child, Laura started to struggle. The running of a business and looking after 2 children as a single parent took their toll on her. She knew something had to give and sadly it was her business. Bankruptcy was the only option and a relocation opportunity became available. All the nail and lash tools were packed away. After a couple of months of financially struggling the realization kicked in. She did not want this life. Time to get the tools back out. Laura set up at home from the spare room and popped a free ad in the Yellow Pages. The rest we can call history, and after 12 years of running Laura Bell Salon in Penryn, Cornwall, she has recently relocated and opened a Brand New Super Salon with 5 full-time employed Beauty Therapists.
